Luddites beware…
Luddites be forewarned — you can’t escape us. Social media reaches beyond your ability to hide, now, or at least that’s the premise behind a piece on Read.Write.Web by Marshall Kirkpatrick that would lead us to believe so.
A lot of what Marshall lays out in the article is plain old good PR:
- Follow what’s being said nationally; often national stories spark local stories, so be aware of opportunity and topics that may become popular
- Build your client’s status as an ‘expert source’ (in this case, by providing content in social media to support the expertise)
- Be creative. Think in a new way and you may find that your audiences ARE using these services, just not the services you would have thought or in the way you first imagined.
- Boost your own knowledge — this will help you make future connections more easily
