Luddites beware…

Luddites be forewarned — you can’t escape us.  Social media reaches beyond your ability to hide, now, or at least that’s the premise behind a piece on Read.Write.Web by Marshall Kirkpatrick that would lead us to believe so.

A lot of what Marshall lays out in the article is plain old good PR:

  • Follow what’s being said nationally; often national stories spark local stories, so be aware of opportunity and topics that may become popular
  • Build your client’s status as an ‘expert source’ (in this case, by providing content in social media to support the expertise)
  • Be creative.  Think in a new way and you may find that your audiences ARE using these services, just not the services you would have thought or in the way you first imagined.
  • Boost your own knowledge — this will help you make future connections more easily

Me! on Twitter

About Me

I'm a student in the Annenberg Program on Online Communities at the University of Southern California. I geek out easily on use cases and talking about almost any area of communications - which is fortunate since I have chosen communications (PR, online, marketing, anything really) as my career.

I read too much, craft too little and find try to remember to find big joy in small things. Oh, and the username DwriteN is reminiscent of an assigned e-mail address long ago.
